Seether, Bush & Nickelback – Air Canada Centre 04/22/12

I used to LOVE the band Bush – so the fact they hadn’t played in Canada for nearly a decade meant that I had to see them. Their comeback album was an underrated gem and I really needed to catch them live again (I use the term ‘them’ loosely, since Gavin Rossdale is the only original member still playing in the band). I decided last minute to check out this show since I was able to get a Floor ticket. The crowd got warmed up by My Darkest Days, who sounded fine but really play up the douche-rocker image. Next up was Seether, who I really enjoy but the crowd was left kind of cold until they played a few bigger hits towards the end of their set. Bush killed it, with Gavin living up to his rockstar image, getting the crowd involved and playing a lot of the vintage material. He even went into the crowd for ‘Come Together’ and was walking up and down the aisles of the ACC – it was crazy! My only complaint was that the barely played anything off the new album, which I really enjoy. It was worth the trip. Nickelback then took the stage and did their thing – it might not be for everyone but they know how to put on a redneck fueled, fire filled show. They sound record perfect, make it look effortless and had a flying spaceship platform that went over the audience – very cool.
