After purchasing tickets when this gig was originally scheduled for the much better venue of The Phoenix, it was kind of a disappointment to have the gig actually be at the Sound Academy – one of my least favourite venues. It always seems to be filled with assholes 😉 This was no exception – a lot of horrible people who seemed to want to be anywhere but at a concert, which was annoying. The show openers Walk The Moon were surprisingly good, with some great catchy pop rock tunes. I was impressed enough to buy their EP, which rarely happens. Young The Giant put on a great sounding show, with a few slow spots when they tried out some new tracks – but the majority was great, the highlights clearly being the large crowd singalong to My Body.
